Document Upload Redesign
There is a Document Verification phase of the application process for this Digital Lending product, as part of both the web and app experience.

I took a swing at redesigning the document upload experience on the mobile app in order to address some of the usability issues that arose during baseline user testing of the app experience.
User Testing
I observed several participants during a round of user testing performed on the entire product flow, including the Document Upload phase of the flow.
I collaborated with our team's dedicated User Researcher to compile notes and observations from each participant's test. We used an online collaboration tool called Miro where we imported sticky notes and wrote notes digitally.

Synthesis
I worked with our UX Researcher to, based on user testing results, identify the interface usability issues that had the most negative impact on the document upload experience.

Design Solutions
#1: Camera vs. Gallery
To address this usability issue, I redesigned the buttons and interactions surrounding the selection of upload method/document type.
Check it out in the clickable prototype below.
#2: Multiple Documents
To make it more clear that users could/should upload multiple documents for some document categories, I redesigned a number of aspects, including:
-
adding labels depicting the number of required docs,
-
adding an "Attach file" button for each required document type, and
-
breaking up steps in "browse" and "save" screens.

#3: Diagnose and Fix Document Errors
To address this usability issue, I redesigned the buttons and interactions surrounding the selection of upload method/document type.
